The Cournalist is looking to expand its coverage of Santa Cruz. That means it’s looking to bring on as many writers as possible who are interested in writing insanely informative and entertaining articles about local politics, UCSC, sports, arts, the local music scene and a number of other beats.

We have a handful of rules. Each story needs to be accompanied by a photo. No, we haven’t given up on the written word, but a story with an accompanying photo is always more interesting. Plus, photos are pretty. If you don’t have access to a camera, shoot us an email and we’ll figure something out.
Also, because we’re trying to make the Cournalist a legitimate resource for the Santa Cruz community, we don’t allow hearsay, undocumented claims or personal attacks. That doesn’t mean we’re not going to go after hard-hitting stories. Rather we’re not interested in libelous and unreasonable commentary.
